Word 2003 crashes when converting to pdf

Word 2003 crashes when I try to convert a document into a pdf using Adobe.
Please let me know if anyone has expereinced this before and knows a fix.

What version of Acrobat? In Acrobat, there are at least three ways to
convert to pdf... which method are you using that causes Word to crash,
and have you tried any of the other methods?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my post. I work at a helpdesk and I'm
trying to help a user. Here is the response I got from him....

"I have Adobe writer and in the past I just went to create adobe file. Now
it crashes when I do that."

Specifically we need to know the exact version of Acrobat (such v7.01 or
8.2) and how do they create the PDF: using File, Print and selecting the PDF
printer or by clicking on the Create PDF tool on the Acrobat installed
Toolbar in Word or what?
