    - Normal Formatting has changed My computer had a glich in the middle of a word doc. When work restarted, the document doesnt display the margins at the top or botton of the page in "outline" view. The cursor appears to be at line 1 of the page ( on the screen).     - Word 2000 Pro Crashes I have just installed office 200 Pro and any time I try to open word, it crashes. I have tried to open in the troublshooting mode using the winword.exe /a but the the same problem occurs. This is the same with the other office programs, excel, powerpoint, access and the others. Can anyone help me on what to do. My thought is it might be a hardware problem but I have not installed any device to it and before I installed office, the PC was running smoothly. Thanks in advance.     - Word 2002 icon is missing I installed Works Suite 2002 some time ago. It included Word 2002. I recently had a problem so I uninstalled and re-installed Word 2002. Now I cannot find the icon anywhere. It is not on the desktop nor the applications menu. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both Works Suite and Word multiple times. But I still cannot get to the Word 2002 program. All of the other applications seem to be there fine. One more thing, if I go to the Control Panel ==> Add or Remove Programs Widows displays Word 2002 and will let me remove it. Therefore, the application appears to be loaded.     - Word 2000 start up error After downloading and installing Adobe Reader 6.0 I get an error every time open and close Word and Excel. In Word I get "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec" In Excil I get "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew" How do I fix this? First I deleted the Normal.dot file - didn't help. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Office - It didn't help. Both programs are functioning ok but I suspect they will give me grief some day if I don't fix the error. Any ideas will be appreciated. I have a macro that use selection find to do some automate replace on a document, called First.doc Anyway, if I have another document opened (Second.doc) and selection on that is somewhere in the document...     - Converting to Adobe Acrobat - Word error I have been using Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (distiller) to convert Word documents to PDF format. The document I am working on now has quite a few internal hyperlinks and cross- references. I am trying to convert it and Word keeps aborting with "Runtime Error. Winword.exe abnormal program termination". The only way I can convert it to PDF the way it stands is if I turn off the Convert Document Cross-Links option in Acrobat Conversion Settings. That of course defeats the purpose of having the cross-links in the document! I was able to convert the same document a few days ago when I tested it. Since then I have 1) upgraded IE to 6.0, and 2) added another chapter to the document with more hyperlinks and cross-references.     - C/P from IE6 to Outlook XP generates PDF icon Hello, When I Paste text from IE6 into Outlook New Message instead of the text I get a graphic that says PDF. It is not a Adobe file.     - Scrolling I have 2 PCs configured exactly the same. On One PC when I scroll through a document it runs smooth as is supposed to. On the other the the document jumps 3-4 lines or pages and is hard to read. These PCs had recently been reformatted and reloaded. Previously the other was hard to scroll.     - MS Word 2000 freezes I run Windows 98 (not SE) and installed Office 2000 recently. MS Word opens fine but I cannot use any of the utility features such as page set up. As soon as I click on page set up Word freezes up and I have to use TaskBar to get out of it. TaskBar says Word is "Not Responding". I never had any trouble with Word 97. I have run antivirus, defragged, uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000, downloaded and installed patches from the MS site and it still continues.     - "Auto Recovery Save" Malfunction As usual, I frequently saved the file. While moving around some MS word graphics, Word started working very slowly. I closed the files, then closed the program, then powered down and automatically restarted. When I went back to Word to open the file, I couldn't find it??? Then found an Autorecovery save in the "Recent documents" on the start menu. I click on the icon and get the following message.     - I need immediate help! I lost a document on Microsoft Word that I have been working on for months. I accidentally overwrote the document with something else. Now I fear that it is lost forever.     - Word quits out every time I use it I recently got Office 2000, so I installed it and everytime I open a document, start a new one, or just open it and do nothing Word, Excel, Frontpage - everything Office related gets the same error "Word has encountered a problem and needs to close". It has already cost me a grade in several classes because I can't turn anything in typed! I tried uninstalling/reinstalling .. uninstalling/Installing Office 97 (same message) .. The next step is reinstalling windows - which by the way I am going to change to Windows 2000 - XP just sux. Sorry Microsoft your programers need to try using their own software and make sure it works before (emphasis on before) you release it to the public. I never had a single problem with comptuers (besides the blue screen of death) that I couldn't fix except this. Oh in case you are wondering, I didn't register either of the Office versions (97 or 2000). I also didn't download any patches. Everyone says that the patches will fix the problems, but I am just sick of Microsoft's products not working.     - word 2002 freezes On Windows 2000 workstations we recently upgraded office 97 pro to office xp pro and users are complaining that word freezes while open and in use and has to be closed. No such problems prior to the upgrade. The upgrade method was custom and the old apps replaced. Both windows 2000 workstations and office xp have current updates. Since I have been using Office 2003, with a lot of programs and word docs open at the same time, I have been experiencing closing of all documents without save prompts, and thereby losing documents. It has never happened to me with other versions(XP or 2000) of office, HELP
I lost a huge important document a whole day's worth of work.

How do you switch between documents or applications when you have many
opened?
