Word 2003 took a step backwards because the Spelling/Grammar checker, after
pressing 'Change,' now shows both the error and correction. Word 2002 did
not do this.

This is irritating, frustrating and confusing, if ther happens to be another
error in the same windo of text.

Suggest you return to hiding the error and showing only the corrected entry
after change to make it much easier to make further corrections in that local.

As an editor with more than enough problems to look at already, I really
don't need this one.

Thanks.

This process seems as convoluted as the software is becoming. How I long
for the days of Win 98 (Not completely!)

I'm getting so tired of nags that can't be shut off, things that seem to
move, just because they can, etc, etc. I could go on but don't want to bore
you and you probably already know them anyway.

Anyway, thanks for respoonding.

This is not normal and suggests one of two possibilities:

1. You have Track Changes enabled.

2. You do not have "Typing replaces selection" checked on the Edit tab of
Tools | Options.
