Word 2003 documents, saved on different network share, are defaulting to read
only, in error. (using windows XP Pro SP2. Server using Windows 2003 SP1.
Users have full rights to the network shares.) The word document is saved as
normal with no restrictions. But ocassionally when the user attempts to open
the document again, it says it is "Read only" This is affecting more than
one network user.
Any solution to this problem

It seems that your users are trying to open the same file simultaneously.
Word documents cannot be opened in that manner. If you try to open a document
that is already opened, you get a Read-Only version of the document.
