I have Office 2007 on Vista Ultimate and Word crashes evertime I close it,
and then restarts Word. Office Diagnostics give me no errors.

I also cannot open Word files by clicking on their icon, or by clicking on
them as an attachment in Office. I have to open Word and select File -> Open
which is the only way I can open any Word file. This is more recent than the
above mentioned crashing error.

The only thing I have done recently is install AVAST antivirus software.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You have an HP Printer?

This is a known HP driver problem. You need to switch to a different default
printer and only select the HP printer when you need to use it.

Please report this to HP as so far they have refused to fix their bug.
