Something has happened to Word. When I close out of the application I
receive an error that says "Word cannot complete save." Also occurs when
closing out of Outlook (which uses word as the email editor). Searched the
forum and web, but cannot find a solution.

Word/Office 2003
Win. XP Pro (all updates and SP2)
Windows Live OneCare

- Tried a "repair" install of office - no change
- Deleted the Word template file (C:\Documents and Settings\Troy
Chollar\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates) - no change
BUT the templates folder had a ton of .tmp files.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

With all applications closed, go to the templates folder and delete all the
temp files. Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\Troy Chollar\Local\Temp and
delete all the temp files abandoned there too. Then try the following FAQ
which includes problems closing (despite its name). See
