Actually, disabling the Norton Office Plug-in does not compromise your virus
protection at all provided you leave Auto-Protect enabled, and it saves you
from myriad other delays and conflicts. In this case, it would appear that
the conflict was with the WinFax add-in (ironically, another Symantec
product), and Symantec advised you to remove that instead.
