    - Word 2003- printing problem Hi i am using word 2003. When i Open a document and print it prints fine but when i make any changes to it and save and then print, the program stops responding, it takes up almost 100% CPU utilization and needs to be killed before I can do anything.     - Using Office Online will not work I just Uninstalled Office 2000 and Installed Office 2003. The firt thing I tried in WORD 2003 is: Connect to Office Online.     - Word Opens Slowly - And Support Template Didn't Fix It My MSWord 2002 opens very slowly, closes very slowly, and sometimes locks up. When switching between multiple open Word docs, the same thing happens. My computer is fast, that's not the problem. I followed the steps to troubleshoot (See Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles 322743 and 319299). I used the support template. When I opened the support template, Word worked perfectly, which would seem to indicate that the problem was with one of the items that were bypassed by using the Word Support Template. I went through each of the five steps mentioned by the Support Template: Step 1: Delete the Word Data Registry Key Step 2: Rename the Normal.dot Global Template Step 3: Turn Off the Startup Folder Add-ins Step 4: Delete the COM Add-ins Registry Key Step 5: Delete the Word Options Registry Key After all these steps, nothing fixed my problem. So, in a nutshell, the template bybassed these issues and the program worked fine.     - Application Problem I have loaded a software called "Calton Sheets Tool Kit". In this program I can click on forms. When I pull up a form it goes into word. The problem is that when I try to type in the information the form itself moves around, the font is in red(when my font setting is black).     - Compile error in hidden module:Autoexec In Office 2003, I am receiving the following error message when I start Word or Excel: "Microsoft Visual Basic Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec" I looked elsewhere on this list and found the refernece to the MVP article "Problems opening Word." I tried all of the proposed solutions in item 4, to no avail. This error occurs one day after I installed Office 2003 Service Pack 1. After that installation, I also started getting error messages complaining of a conflict with Adobe Acrobat 5.0. I uninstalled Acrobat 5.0 and installed in its place Adobe Reader 6.0.2.     - MS Word has encountered a problem I am running MS OFFice Pro 2000 on Windows XP Pro. All the sudden I can't open Word anymore. All the other Office programs work fine. When I try to open Word, I receive the message: "Microsoft Word for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close..." I already tried the repair function on the cd, tried uninstalling and re-installing it, cleaning with regedit, etc. .. it still will not open.     - Missing Normal.dot If you don't believe me, then please just don't try to answer my question. I am an MCSE and an MOS. I have supported, taught, and used Microsoft Office applications for years and years. I know how to search for files. I know about hidden files and extensions and all that. I have solved hundreds of problems for Users by deleting normal.dot and then allowing Word to recreate it. Recently, I did the same thing for myself, except that Word did NOT recreate it.     - Winword.exe Instruction error Good day, I am running Office 97 pro. on W2K on a laptop. When opening the application while online(on the network) it opens with no problem. As soon as I disconnect from the network it comes up the instruction error. Winword.exe Instruction at "0x6061fdc3" memory could not be read.     - AutoText dissappears I use a large amount of data in Autotext (normal.dot about 1.5Mb) It randomly dissappears when the desktop is shutdown and restarted usually overnight. Starts up with a new normal.dot and no Autotext. Current version of Word is XP on Win2000 but it has happened on Word7 on Win95 as well. Any ideas - is there a limit to normal.dot?     - winword (mso9.dll) crashes under ole control I have a problem at one of my clients running my vfp6 app on xp home and calling winword8 (office 2000) They were running with no problems under win 2000 - their tech just did an upgrade. The document is a mail merge document and I provide a button that allows them to view & edit the document (code snippet below) word opens and then crashes after about 5 seconds with fatal error message If I try again - winword doesn't even open & I get the fatal error message followed by a vfp error 1426 I can close my application & open the documents in word with no problems The client has no antivirus software loaded - but does a scan from 'trent microsystems' (internet site that scans your system) each week However I was able to find several references to this application error in the application event log:- Faulting application winword.exe, version 9.0.0.3822, faulting module mso9.dll, version 9.0.0.3821, fault address 0x00081c2a. But cannot find any help on the knowledgebase that would fit the clients situation Where should I start to look for a solution to this problem?     - Word acting up under 2000 Pro Using XP Pro on a new installation, and using OFFICE 2000 Pro. Whole computer was reloaded a month ago on a clean format and worked until just this week, just fine. Word opens and shows the mouse cursor but won't allow keyboard activity. Wierd huh? This is done using OLE stuff like monikers & binding to the object. Also a temp file $xyz.doc is created indicating the file is opened. At this point the window is not active yet or visible. pppvResult is used to get the WordObject and CountWindows using IDispatch calls GetIDsOfNames, GetProperty. I comapred each of the calls in Word 2000 & Word 2003. Except the call to CountWindows() everything is fine. With Word 2003 it returns 1 but with Word 2000 it returns 0. I donot understand why is the difference. I donot get any error message. The Invoke method call returns success. As per the CountWindows description in WordBasic hlp file, it gives the count of windows in the windows menu.     - Weird Error When opening MS Word 2003 Since formatting my computer and installing Office 2003, whenever i try to open Word, I get the following message: Microsoft Office Word ! The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open.     - paste errors Word 2003--no paste completion Running XP Home Edition, Word 2003, part of Office 2003. Copy function does work, that is the copied text shows the copied text on the clipboard. Copy-Paste function does work within WORD, but not from internet document to WORD document. This is a new problem, though in the previous week the "paste" function has taken longer than previous (aggravatingly long time) to work. Today, no paste at all and all WORD functions except "close" (on the tool bar, right click) cease to function. "Paste" has always worked like a breeze, on any WORD programs I ever had or used, until the slowdown about a week ago. And now, ceases to complete the "paste" function at all. I've rebooted, and/or unplugged, and shut down only WORD, instead of re-starting the computer. Nothing has solved the problem, even though multiples of the aforementioned have been tried.     - Macros--voice-activated macros (You may want to read this from the bottom since I wrote to you once before about this problem) I tried 2 different Logitech USB digital mics--the first one was doing very well for 2 days. Then, the menus starting dropping down again, making it impossible to continue. I'd be happy to buy a better mic though I'd have to order it online (we don't have much variety here on Maui). A more sensitive mic will just pick up more extraneous noise, though, and that won't solve the problem, will it? In any case, I'll try to order a digital Sony USB mic if you think it will help (is that all the info I need to start searching?) You said the modem also produces noise. Do you mean random static noise internally? Or audible noise externally? In either case, how can I work around it? I'm using a PCS2200 cable modem. I noticed that the Recognition Profile Setting (under Speech Properties) on the control panel doesn't really make a difference. That is, when I change the Pronunciation Sensitivity from low to high or vice versa, I notice no difference in the response to my voice commands. Is that normal? Thanks for your help!     - corrupt normal template I started Word to edit a document. The document was a "to do" list like this: 1. Clean blah blah a. do blah blah b. do blah blah blah i. be sure blah blah ii. then blah blah 2. Walk dog a. down that street and so on..... From the beginning Word has always automatically "sensed" what I was doing and did the formating. Now I hit the Tab key, enter "1." and type, hit Return and the number "2." pops up, I hit Tab and ....nothing.... What has happened????     - Printed document different than Print Preview and problems with print Current Page Hi all, I have a number of documents that print differently than what is displayed in Print Preview. Typically one or two lines switched around on the actual document compared to what is displayed on the screen in Print Preview. Here is the other issue.     - htm problem Just wondering whether someone can help me out. I have created a webpage using wd2000. The content of the page set up as a table of contents that hyperlink to other MS docs (doc, xls..etc). One of the purpose is so I can zip the htm together with all other files and email that out to other users. They can simply open the htm and it will link and open other files they wish to view. However somes of the links seems to work when sitting on the directory but once I have zipped them up and email out (to myself for a test). All the links doesn't seems to work, it simply just trying to open the file from internet explorer (v5.0, operating under windows NT 4.0) but nothing appears (just blank).
