Somehow when I saved my document, it deleted all the
typing and saved over my file with a blank document. Is
there any way to undo this?

If you have "Always create backup copy" enabled, look for a file called
"Backup of <filename>.wbk." Otherwise, you're SOL if you've closed the file.
If not, Undo to get the text back. The way this happens, by the way, is that
you accidentally select the entire document (using Ctrl+A or another
method), then type a single character or space; with "Typing replaces
selection" enabled (Edit tab of Tools | Options), you overwrite the entire
contents with the character or space. Moral: Always use Undo as your Panic
button.
