Problems with editing documents and opening new documents

I tried to open a new document in Word 2003, but all the icons turned pale,
except for print, and I could not open a new document, also the same thing
happened when I tried to edit a document. Also having the same problem with
Excel. It has worked fine for the past year since installation. Anyone have
any ideas.

Sounds like your copy of Office 2003 has gone into reduced
functionality mode either because you have not activated the
software or because you have an expired trial version of Office
2003. What happens if you start Word and click on Help |
Activate Product? If you are already activated, a dialog box
saying so will appear. If you are not activated, the Activation
Wizard will start. If you have an expired trial version, a
dialog box will prompt you to enter a valid product key or
purchase a key online.
