 - Error "The file X.doc is not available" HELP! I am on XP Home with SP1, and MS Office 2000. I was ok, then I did the Office Update. Now I can open Word, & save a docoument. However I can not open any docouments, old or new. I get the following message (the X is the name of the saved Word docoument.) I have downloaded the text converters, just in case it was a older word docoument, but no difference. Any ideas, short of re-installing Office?  - label grid lines I'm working with Word on Office 2000. Up to now I've always seen the non-printing grid lines when setting up labels, but this no longer comes up. I can add grid lines with the Borders command, but they will print unless I then take them off. Why did I lose those default grid lines, and how do I restore them.  - Problem w/ Office 2000 Word 2000 compatibility and security When I bought this computer it had Windows 98 installed. I had a version of Office 98 that I had previously and installed it. Shortly thereafter, I downloaded a Word 2000 document from e-mail. This made it so my Word in Office 98 wouldn't work (received an error with every boot up - Installing Word 2000; Disc not Located). I went and bought Office 2000 and that made it work - although the error still appeared, I could press Cancel and it would be ok. Now, I upgraded to Windows Me and everytime I try to access Word in Office a screen comes up asking me for the Product Key for Word 2000. When I enter the key from my Office 2000 it doesn't accept it and shuts down Word. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing - same problem. I need help!  - Problems inserting picture from scanner into WORD document. I have a scanner (Canoscan N12402#2).Recently, whenever I try to insert a picture from it into a WORD document, only the 'Custom Insert' button is available and I much prefer to use the 'Insert' button because it is quicker!  - Indexing Failure In Word 2000 Recently, when generating an index, the document is auto marked ok; but when I ask it to generate the index, nothing happens. I use a simple 2 column "N" row concordance table, column 1 and two are the same, nothing fancy. As a test when I ask for an index in a non-marked document I don't get the error message telling me it is not marked. I have re-booted, re-loded the document.  - WinWord -Office 2000 toolbars problem I have a user with Word 2000 on his workstation. All toolbars have disappeared and cannot be turned back on. The only thing on his app is the Title bar and then the document. The Alt+V keys will not bring up the option. I've tried all I can find to restore this users toolbars but no luck.  - Weird problem with styles, Document Map stle While working with a pretty large document, I found that the text within many tables is now in a style called "Document Map." This style does not turn up on my Style list unless I've selected text in that style. Also, I cannot switch that text to another style (in this case, a style I've named 'Normal'). So far, the only solution I've found is to re-create the tables, which is NOT an easy job on this document. Can someone tell me what's gone wrong? I'm using Word 2002.  - problems on my word 7.0 i'm very frustrated, i just bought this laptop with windows xp and word 7.o installed, i'm trying to write a book, but everytime i go on to a certain page i get "error reporting" and when i either send or unsend it errases my word document, or it disappears and reads Works cannot open "c/document and settings/my documents/bookidea.wps" the file maybe in use by another applicaton(which one i try to find out.) the file format may not support by any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt.  - Scanning and Service Pack 3 Prior to installing SP3, when a document was put into the scanner a box would pop up with applications you wanted to scan into. After 3 install, that box is empty.  - Problems printing envelopes and letters Hi, I have a merge process that merges data into letters with attached envelopes for each letter. When I try to print the envelopes and letters at the same time, the printer error on the Lexmark comes up with MP Load Feeder Paper or something like that. What do you mean by "all of the other accounts"?

My guess is that you have either corrupted registry entries or a corrupted
normal.dot. In the case of the latter, are you positive that you deleted or
renamed the CORRECT normal.dot for that particular login/user?
