I am missing the Tools dropdown menu in Word 2000. I have
followed the directions given at the MS Word MVP site in
deleting the Data key and then restarting before opening
Word - problem still persists. I have made sure the SR-1
is installed. All without any help. Any suggestions would
be gratefully appreciated.

Have you tried restoring it through Tools | Customize? (This isn't as
flippant as it sounds--you can access the Customize dialog by
double-clicking on the unused area of any toolbar.) On the Commands tab,
select the Built-in Menus category, then the Tools menu, and drag it to the
menu bar.
