    - Dialog box is open When I do not have Word open and I double-click on a Word file to open (and, hence to launch Word), the following error window appears: "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click okay and then close open dialog boxes to continue" I click okay, then my file opens. What can I do to prevent this from occuring each time I want to open a file and launch Word? Thanks.     - Word 2007 Cut and Paste errors... ANCILLLLARY Hello, I'm using Word 2007 on an Windows XP machine that has had no previous versions of Microsoft Office installed on it. Whenever I cut and paste the paste always shows up as, "ANCILLLLARY" (yes, with 4 "L"s) I'm viewing the Office Clipboard, and when I cut something (either from within a Word document or another application, such as Notepad) 2 entries appear on the Office Clipboard.     - can't save a document on the network (Word 2007 / Vista) Hi, I have installed Vista and Office 2007 at my office. I have some network drive mapped. I open and edit a word document from the network and when I try to save it word raise an error and ask me for a new name (like save as) but this failure cause the file to disappear on the network !!!!! I see temp file instead of word documents. so I have to save the document anywhere else, and then copy back the document on the network. The error is: There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection may be lost. I have all the right, I'm admin, and editing from another desktop works fine. what's appends?     - Flickering Footer Hi, I have created a document which is in portriat orientation, but inlcudes several pages in the middle which are in landscape. I have separated the landscape section by using 'Next Page' section break. I have also stopped the header and footer in the landscape section from linking to the previous section in portrait. The problem I now encounter which I have experienced before in Word is that when I try to autofit the footer to the width of the section in landscape it develops a flicker. The footer flickers from being portrait width to landscape width and I have been unable to stop by fixing the width of the footer as well. Any suggestions on how I can overcome this glitch (am I inserting the landscape section in the wrong way?) would be most welcome and appreciated.     - Word always opens in a new email screen I have a friend who has Word 2000 installed. It used to work fine. Now whenever he opens Word, it opens not in a document, but with a new email message (unaddressed). When he closes the email message, it reverts to a document. This is very annoying.     - Save Every Senctence or Loose Document (Error OE: 014F) If I am typing a long document, I have to save, save, save about every sentence or else I lose everything. This window pops open telling me that something has finished scanning for errors and on the blue bar at the top it does a countdown. When the countdown is finished another smaller window opens and it says an error has occurred and I only have the option to close. As I watch, it closes itself and the screen goes blue and shows: Error OE: 014F: 00005ED7 Then my only option is CTRL ALT DEL to reboot the computer and I have lost all work not saved.     - tables and hyperlinks in word 2k Hi All, I have a simple web page that I created in ms word 2k. It is set up in a table. I am now trying to update the page and when I try to put a new hyperlink in the table it gives me a problem. I can put the text in but when I try to put the link information in the information is visible. I select the text and go to hyperlink using the context menu. Am I missing a step?     - Saving error - file is currently in use. Try again later. Since installing Office 2007 when I try to save changes to an existing document, I now get the error '\\Server\Shared\file name.docx is currently in use. Try again later. This happens whether I am trying to save changes to a Word 2003 doc or Word 2007. The files are stored in a shared folder on our server. I have Windows XP Pro 2002, Service pack 2.     - Problem printing document Hi I am having aproblem printing a Word document on an XP machine using Word 2002 SP3. The document is accessed from a link on a web page, if you click on it you get the open/save box. If you choose open, the document opens ok. If you then try to print it, it freezes Word and you do not get your print. The only way to do it is to uncheck the "background printing" box in the options tab. Can anybody explain why?     - Revision History Removed Error Hello everyone, We're using Word 2003 SP2 and a user with a document that was heavily formatted with track changes recently got this error when trying to open it: (in a show repairs window) Errors were detected in this file, but Word was able to open the file by making the repairs listed below. Save the file to make the repairs permanent. Internal Data Integrity (Type 4) 1 Revision data removed 1 When you try to 'Go To' the error, it tells you the bookmark was not found.     - Word 2003 keeps saying it crashed last time it was opened Hi! I'm using Office 2003 SP2 on a Windows 2003 R2 terminal server. Every second time a user opens Word he/she is prompted that "Word failed to start correctly last time". "Do you want to start Word in safe mode?" To my knowledge Word hasn't crashed or shown any signs of problems so I'm a bit puzzled. I've tried to rename "normal.dot" to something else to generate a new template. I've also tried reinstallating and repairing the installation with a subsequent reboot but it doesn't resolve the problem. Opening Word with the "/a" switch makes no difference either.     - Word 2007 does not open/save to Novell mapped network drive on Vis I'm currently running a test PC in our office with Windows Vista Business, Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition and Novell Client Technology Preview release for Windows Vista. When I've tried to open any Word document from a Novell mapped network drive (such as my H:/drive after I've logged in using the Novell client) I keep getting "access denied. Contact your administrator." This happens in other Office 2007 applications as well. I've tried changing the trusted locations and added the network H:/drive there but still nothing. When I reset stuff back and click ok, I get an error that says "The Number Must be Between 1 and 1638" and I can't find where this number is being set. We've tried deleting normal.dot and cleaning up temp files and finally ended up working around this with the sledgehammer of deleting the current user's Word registry stuff. But ...     - Cannot "save as" .doc to .txt I have a large (350-500 pgs) yearly report which must be sent to the client in Word, RTF, TXT, HTML, and PDF formats we've been doing for six years. This year I am unable to create the TXT version doing a "save as" on the Word file. I tried on three different computers; removed all graphics, links, and security; tried on Word and RTF versions and nothing worked. Every time the program would crash and ask if I want to recover and report the error. I even went back to last year's report, which we did create a TXT version of last year, and was unable to do so with the same file.     - Office 2007 converter pack errors I'm currently running Office 2007 Enterprise edition on a test PC, and loading/saving files to the new formats work fine. However, on my Windows XP machine with Office XP and all the latest service packs, I've installed the Office 2007 converter pack, and whilst Excel and PowerPoint open/save in 2007 format without any problems, I keep getting this rather annoying error in Word XP: "This is a pre-release version of the compatibility pack and can open pre-release Office 2007 files only. Do you want to check for a newer version of the Compatibility Pack?" Clicking Yes goes to the download page to download the very same compatibility pack that's already been installed.     - Sending Multiple E-mails using Mail Merge (Word 2003) We have always done our mail merge through Word 2000 with the data stored in Access 2000. Our Company now uses Word 2003 and Access 2002. In 2000 My E-mail addresses in MS Access were seperated by a semi colon for it to recognize the addresses in the mail merge.     - Reviewer initials in Word comments I'm aware that the "reviewer" name for existing comments in a Word document can be changed by replacing the name with a new name via Tools > Macro > Microsoft Script Editor. However, using this procedure I am unable to replace the comment tags. When I try and replace them manually in the Microsoft Script Editor by replacing "[Initials1" with "[Initials2", Microsoft Script Editor appears to implement the changes, but in the updated Word documents the comments still show the old tags.     - Invisible Typing & Font Too Small Hello, I have Microsoft Office XP, and I can't find the version (it's not eve listed under "Version" so I don't know what's up with that). Anyway, th software came from my husband's work, so it might be Professional; bu I'm not sure. I have two problems: 1. All of a sudden, without my doing anything to cause it (that I kno of), the font, when it's at Times New Roman 12 (as usual), has decide to show as extremely small. Really weird, and I'm in school sendin papers via email in MLA format, so I really need to fix this fon problem (just raising the font number is not going to cut it). 2. I was cutting and pasting paragraphs from an ebook, and suddenl there was this little red horizontal line, and I couldn' paste--nothing showed up when I pasted. Now I can't even type anythin in the document--it just doesn't show on the page. I signed up for a free trial of office 2007 for 60 days spent 4 hrs
downloading the software and now I can not even use any part because it says
that the system is locked and I just signed up for it today!!! Somebody help
