When I attempt to open a Word document from a floppy Word does not respond.     - Paragraph style error - Level B refers to more than one style I have modified some Heading styles in my document and then I get the error message: Level B refers to more than one style The application will not let me set a paragraph to that style of modify the style. I can get the same effect however by chosing the next lower style and then using the left arrow on the menu bar to raise it up one level. What can I do to get rid of the error message?     - Typing In Word Hangs I have a problem similar to an earlier posting. When I open MS Word, I type one or two characters and then Word hangs up. After a minute or so, Word will allow me to type another couple of characters and then hangs again. The problem goes away when I open MS Word in safe mode (Start, Run, type in "winword /a", Press "Enter"). The computer I'm using has AMD's Athalon XP 1900+ processor, 1GB DDR SDRAM, Windows 2000 (SP4 and all patches), and Office XP Pro (2002 w/SP2 and all patches). Possibly related is Outlook. When I open Outlook, it also opens MS Word. If I originate e-mail, what I type in the first e-mail is displayed in the MS Word Window. After sending it, second and subsequent e-mails originated during that session are displayed in a regular message window. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix the Word problem?     - Word documents disapear with a save error... When saving a document located on the server from one of=20 the clients an error message pops up telling the user that=20 there is something wrong with the disk where he or she is=20 trying to save the document. At the same time the network=20 connection is getting the red X on it as if it wasnt=20 accesible, which it is, when accesing it from explorer.=20 Thats when the real problem reveals itself, the document=20 you were trying to save is now gone. Its not on the server=20 or anywhere to be found on the local machine.=20 The event log shows nothing that can help me with this=20 problem, both server and client log is checked for the=20 specific time when it occours. The disk on the server=20 looks fine. Other shares on the same disk doesnt seem to=20 be affected.=20 This problem has occured 7 - 8 times in a couple of weeks=20 and my custommers are not to happy with it.=20 They are running a SBS2000 server, Windows 2000=20 professional desktops and Office2000.=20 Uppdated antivirus software is running on all the=20 computers in the network.=20 Hope that someone out there has seen or experinced this=20 and can give me some tips on how to fix it.=20 Thanks in advance.     - Word 2002 duplex printing My last post didn't seem to appear so this is a repeat attempt to make a post. Manual duplex printing simply asks me to load the next piece of paper in the sheet feeder when it hasn't printed the first page and prints nothing else when I respond to the "OK" in the dialog box. Page setup is multiple pages 'book fold' and 'all' sheets. I am running Windows 98SE, Word 2002 and using a Lexmark 1100 printer.     - Saving document problems-write protect/read-only I added microsoft word to my microsoft works suite and I can't seem to get it to work properly. I am having trouble saving any of my work to a cd-rw. Everytime I try to save my work the message comes up: write-protected or read-only.     - Word Opens Slowly I am still having trouble with Word and wonder if anyone has new ideas. It opens slowly and if I interrupt it opening by trying to click, it may freeze. Otherwise it works fine, just opens and closes slowly. If I open it in winword.exe /a, it does fine. I have tried deleting normal.dot, the registry data key, and have deleted temp files. If I look for Add-ins, including the Com add-ins, there has never been anything in the windows.     - MS Word version I am using windows 98 and I have MSoffice 4.2 which includes Word 6.0c. When I get documents from others, they are not formatted properly.     - duplex printing in word 2002 With page setup, pages, as 'book fold' and, sheets set as 'all' I was trying to do duplex printing but had problems. 1. Checking the Manual duplex box for printing produces a message to reload the printer manual feeder, but it prints nothing at all. Any suggestions here? 2. Auto duplex printing on my one-side-at-a-time Lexmark 1100 printer prints the pages in the right place but on separate sheets of paper instead of being back-to-back. The backspace key works immediately unless the delete key has just been pressed, in which case backspace takes two presses to work.     - Distorted page display in Print Layout View Hello I'm running Word 2003 though I once had this problem in Word XP. In print layout view, the size and shape of the page is wrong. It looks like an 8 1/2 by, say 9" tall page, instead of the 8 1/2 by 11" page that it ought to be. I tried deleting Normal.dot, but that didn't help. In the past, I could call up an old letter and it would display correctly. Now, though, that isn't working either. Everything else seems to work fine. If I go to reading layout view or print preview, things look fine. The printed document looks fine too. It's only in the print layout view that things are displayed incorrectly. Any help?     - Class already exists I am using Visual Studio Tools for Office with Word 2003 on XP Pro. In the code behing page, I open a dialog window for information.     - Error 1706: No valid source.... I have a computer with WinXP and Word 2000 plus Excel 2003/Outlook2003. We need Word 2000 for a specific application. Everything was fine until I did the updates for the Word2000. We have the users as restricted but did the updates as Admin. When starting Word as a restricted user, it give the error: "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1. The Windows installer cannot continue." It will only give this error when logged in as the restricted user. I don't want to give the users any more rights than they absolutely need so how can I get around this? I found the KB article relating to something similiar but it didn't work. I have tried to see what part of the registry is being accessed so I can change the values if necessary, but no luck. I hope someone can help me.     - Word freezes? I recently changed a few things on my system and now I can't get word (from office 2000) to work. My system freezes completely, and when I press ctrl/alt/delete - it says I'm dangerously low on resources - Wierd because I have tons of space left on all drives.
