 - label grid lines I'm working with Word on Office 2000. Up to now I've always seen the non-printing grid lines when setting up labels, but this no longer comes up. I can add grid lines with the Borders command, but they will print unless I then take them off. Why did I lose those default grid lines, and how do I restore them.  - Problem w/ Office 2000 Word 2000 compatibility and security When I bought this computer it had Windows 98 installed. I had a version of Office 98 that I had previously and installed it. Shortly thereafter, I downloaded a Word 2000 document from e-mail. This made it so my Word in Office 98 wouldn't work (received an error with every boot up - Installing Word 2000; Disc not Located). I went and bought Office 2000 and that made it work - although the error still appeared, I could press Cancel and it would be ok. Now, I upgraded to Windows Me and everytime I try to access Word in Office a screen comes up asking me for the Product Key for Word 2000. When I enter the key from my Office 2000 it doesn't accept it and shuts down Word. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing - same problem. I need help!  - Problems inserting picture from scanner into WORD document. I have a scanner (Canoscan N12402#2).Recently, whenever I try to insert a picture from it into a WORD document, only the 'Custom Insert' button is available and I much prefer to use the 'Insert' button because it is quicker! The 'Insert' button worked perfectly well before, but now, it is unavailable! I would be most grateful if anyone can shed some light on this particular problem!! Thank you!!  - Indexing Failure In Word 2000 Recently, when generating an index, the document is auto marked ok; but when I ask it to generate the index, nothing happens. I use a simple 2 column "N" row concordance table, column 1 and two are the same, nothing fancy. As a test when I ask for an index in a non-marked document I don't get the error message telling me it is not marked. I have re-booted, re-loded the document.  - Word and Excel Shortcuts Disappear Recently there have been a few PC's that have Office XP installed and for some unknown reason the shortcuts for Word and Excel disappear.  - Drag and drop on Wordart, clipart and textboxes I have XP Pro with Office XP and am unable to manipulate the above referenced applications. I can expand their size but am unable to move around the page. Drag and drop is enabled in the edit menu of the options. I am at a loss. It worked in my 2000 program. What am I doing wrong?  - word 2003 stops responding I am using Office 2003 and XP. Both products are both fully patched and updated.  - WinWord -Office 2000 toolbars problem I have a user with Word 2000 on his workstation. All toolbars have disappeared and cannot be turned back on. The only thing on his app is the Title bar and then the document. The Alt+V keys will not bring up the option. I've tried all I can find to restore this users toolbars but no luck.  - Weird problem with styles, Document Map stle While working with a pretty large document, I found that the text within many tables is now in a style called "Document Map." This style does not turn up on my Style list unless I've selected text in that style. Also, I cannot switch that text to another style (in this case, a style I've named 'Normal'). So far, the only solution I've found is to re-create the tables, which is NOT an easy job on this document. Can someone tell me what's gone wrong? I'm using Word 2002.  - problems on my word 7.0 i'm very frustrated, i just bought this laptop with windows xp and word 7.o installed, i'm trying to write a book, but everytime i go on to a certain page i get "error reporting" and when i either send or unsend it errases my word document, or it disappears and reads Works cannot open "c/document and settings/my documents/bookidea.wps" the file maybe in use by another applicaton(which one i try to find out.) the file format may not support by any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt. Replaced the normal.dot template. 2. Have checked to make sure that the toolbar.dot is in the startup folder in MS Word.  - Scanning and Service Pack 3 Prior to installing SP3, when a document was put into the scanner a box would pop up with applications you wanted to scan into. After 3 install, that box is empty. Removing sp3 took care of the problem, but that is not an option. Any help would be appreciated. We need the ability to scan directly into word 2k.  - Word clears clipboard Any time I launch Word, the clipboard is emptied. Once Word is open, I can jump to other apps and copy from them and paste into Word, but if I Copy first, then open Word, whatever I copied is gone from the clipboard when Word finishes opening.  - Word 2002 Hangs Every time I try to open a word documtent over the network Word locks up. I have tried numerous documents; I have succesfully opened files in this share from another computer.  - opening Word document from a website into Word I'm having a problem with opening a Word document from a html page into Word, as the document is opening in quick view plus. I know that it isnt the html code that I've used as it opens into Word on one machine, but in quick view on another. so I'm guessing it is to do with the browser settings on the second machine making any documents opened online open into this specific program.  - word 97 Hello! whenever I open word, the new document has pictures on it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and they are still there. I have just done several types of virus scans and nothing is picked up. Also the monitor is not holding the right pixels, the screen is so big it can't all fit. I have changed that and rebooted, but when it comes back up it's the same thing. The mouse is also very slow, it drags and catches all over. I can't think of what to try next!  - Problems printing envelopes and letters Hi, I have a merge process that merges data into letters with attached envelopes for each letter. When I try to print the envelopes and letters at the same time, the printer error on the Lexmark comes up with MP Load Feeder Paper or something like that. This error occurs right after it successfully prints the first envelope and right before the letter that goes in the envelope. I have tried various page setup settings, changing the default tray to 2 (where the form letter paper is), but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?  - Word XP hangs on subdocument expansion I've got a master document that I've been working on for couple of years now, with some other members of my team. It's been getting messier as time goes by, and this last time I went to make some edits, I noticed that the bullets were showing up as number lists, and a few other formatting errors. Checking the formatting, I discovered these paragraphs were just "Body Text" with secondary styles, and by assigning a real "Style" to them, I could fix the problem. So I started on this process. Every now and then I'd get a "Word is running low on memory, you will not be able to undo" or even a hang ("stops responding"). But I could always recover. Now I'm totally jammed up. Whenever I attempt to expand the sub-documents, the application hangs and will not respond. Every time. I've tried turning off spell-checking. I've tried the "winword /a" option. I'm not using Speech recognition. Here's the weird bit. I can take the collectiono fsubdocs and the master doc to another computer and it'll open just fine. Do you see something like: {HYPERLINK....}? If so press Alt + F9 to
toggle off the field codes.

Otherwise please describe what you mean by "corrupted and not
readable".
