I just installed Office 2003.
My problem is whenever I try to open a file ( -any- file
in word 2003) I get this error "<filename> is not
availible".

The same file will open in any other program.
I have applied all of the latest fixes and updates for it.

Running Windows XP SP1

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance

I too have this problem. I'm running a Norwegian version of 2003 on XP. The status line reads: "virus scanning....", so I thought it might be related to a problem with my antivirus software from Norton. Turning off the reel-time modus did not help. I have made another installation of office 2003 on another computer, and that worked fine. The difference was that on the latter I hod no previous installations of office (2000).

John

Have you updated Office via the Office Update site? Have you got Norton Anti
Virus? Disable the Office Plug-in in NAV.
