Every single time!!

Every time I close Word and save something it closes and then shows me the
message "there was an error and word has to close..." blah blah blah. then i
have to hand-click the little checkbox, open word and recover documents. this
only happens when i close it before saving. SOOO does anyone know how i might
be able to fix this? has anyone had the same problem?

Hi Hitchhiker42,

You could try running 'Detect & Repair' from Word's help menu (or 'Run MS Office Diagnostics' from Word Options|Resources for Word
2007 & 8).

Start Word in Safe Mode. From Start, Run
type in

winword /a

and press enter. Does Word close now without the error? If it does close,
then there is an incompatible add-in that is breaking Word's Close
command.

I am having hthe exact same problem but I am running Vista. How to I get to
"run"? so I can try your solution?

Ah, thank you. This is my first time using Vista and I did not know the
search filed also worked as the run field.
