Equation Editor 3

In the past I have used the equation editor with only
minor problems. Resently, I had to reload my machine. I
have installed some new programs. Now, when I use the
equation editor, I can get it inserted and open, but as
soon as I type a number or letter it faults the memmory
stack and crashes. If I don't close it before doing
anything else, it will crash Word also. Any ideas?

What version of Word are running? Have install the latest patches and
Service Pack for it. Have you done a "Detect & Repair from the "Help" menu.
