Whenever I close a file in Word 2007 a window pops up with the message
stating "Document has Changed. Do you want to save it?" even when I have made
no changes at all. Does anyone know what I can do to remedy this situation?
Thank you.

Likely, the document has a field in it, such as a date, that is being updated
when you open the file. See:

I wish that were the answer. But, I can save a document and immediately go to
close it and I'll still get the message indicating a change was made and
asking if I want to save it.

Perhaps a clue to the problem is related to this: when I try to close a
file, I'll get the message indicating a change was made and asking if I want
to save it. If I click "yes" the file will save but won't close.
