    - Word 97 saving doc issues I believe I have a virus and want to transfer my documents to another PC but when I save documents I get: Word has insufficient memory. Do you want to save doc as a Rescued Document? MS tech support says to fix this you click on "Insert" then on "Bookmarks" but the I get "There is insufficient memory or disk space.     - Nag re Dialog Box The latter part of August, I installed Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1. Within approximately a week, I installed Windows XP Service Pack 2. Since that combination of installations, I encounter this nag when I attempt to open a Word document: <quote> The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click OK, and then close open dialog boxes to continue. [ OK ] <end quote> No dialog boxes are open, and clicking OK causes the notification to go away , after which the Word document opens.     - Word 2003 - XP Home - delete not delete - files come back I have this weird problem. I delete Word files in Explorer and they come back! I don't, by the way, empty protected files or otherwise do anything re deleted files - I just delete them and they just come back.     - Read Only Word files -- can't undo I received a Word email doc fm a colleague. When I opened it, it required me either to enter the sender's password, or to open as Read Only. I did the latter. Since then, every Word doc I've got is read only. This means that when I open any old document or create a new one, there are no tools bars, no help buttons -- no nothing ... just the document's (text properly formatted) and the "ruler." WHen I look at "My Doc" properties (XP Pro), the Read Only box is completely green (as opposed to clear or checked). When I clear it, it appears to re-set to NON Read Only.     - Can't get rid of Trailing blank page Is this a Word bug (Word 2002, on XP Pro)? I have a multi-page document of which I now want only the first two pages. I select all the text I want to delete, then delete. I am then left with two pages, and a trailing blank page which I cannot get rid of no matter what. Even when I try to copy just the text I want, and paste it into a new document, I STILL get the blank trailing page. Is there a "delete page" function that I am missing here?     - Word 2000 I just tried to open Microsoft Word 2000. I am (was) able to do this, but when I try to open up any of the saved documents (which I have had no problems opening previously) I get the message that The system is dangerously low in resources!     - Normal.dot Everytime I open up word I get this messege and it never did this before I just got this for 3 weeks now I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of it.     - Update Fields Options turns itself on I am using word tables and macros to add simple statements and they work fine. The bottom field may include a "SUM" statement. This all works perfectly until my computer changes its settings itself and in tools/options/print I find that the "update fields" has mysteriously become ticked resulting in my bottom field adding itself automatically a secon time when I print.     - Possible: Bug/Feature Using Word when Outlook is open Here is what we have run into. When Word is opened up and you have one document open, you typically can close the document, but leave Word open. However, when you are using Word as your outlook email editor and also have Word open you cannot leave MS Word open when you close a document. Is this an error? I can't find anything on it.     - "Compare and Merge" errors. Hello. I am having a problem with the "compare and merge" portion of Word 2003. A secretary has an orignal document. She does a "save as" creating a secondary document. She then makes the changes to the secondary document. After completing the changes, she will do a "compare and merge" to find the redline changes in the documents. The document is 83 pages with an extensive amount of changes being a legal document. The problem is everytime she goes to print, the application hangs and can only ended through task manager. I have tried the word document at my own personal station at home. The same error occurs. Has anyone had anything close to this or any ideas on how to fix the problem? I believe it is a problem within the merged document, but both original and secondary print without a problem. The problem existed on her Word 2003 unpatched and still existed with SP1 applied. My system at home has SP1 also. Thanks for any help.     - Word Will NOT Save Hey Everyone! Running Office XP. Everything else works ok but, all of sudden, Word will not allow me to save anything. I've run a repair on it, but still doing the same thing; I open a new doc, type a line of text and click on "save" or "save as" and nothing happens (just the drop-down list goes away).     - Word will not open I have Word 2000 on my Gateway desktop. Just a few days ago, Word began to have problems in opening. The Initial Word box shows up, but the document format window never opens to allow you to create a document. After waiting several minutes, the only way to get out is to hit Ctrl- Alt-Delete. Then the following message box shows up: "The system is dangerously low in resources! Would you like to terminate the following applications? Winword (not responding)" When I click "Yes", the box closes. However, from that point on, whenever I try to open anything, a similar message appears. I then have to reboot the system to get it to work again. After rebooting, as long as I do not try to open Word, the computer works perfectly. I have deleted and reinstalled Word from the CD that came with the system, but no change was noticed. Any similar problem out there with a probable solution??????     - Error: Registry Key Not Found When I open the Word (office XP VVersion) it gives immediate message "Error: Registry Key Not found" When I press Ok then it opens theword page. The problem is that when i use OutLook when I am writting new message or forward or reply the message message it gives message that says "interface not registered" and does not send the message nor it saves in the draft nor it allows to save in other folder this message that I write.     - Toolbar Lock-up Hi, I have automated the opening of Word documents. From a VB menu application, the user clicks a Word document (link to a file) and then it opens in Word. This works OK 99% of the time. However, sometimes after opening, the tool bars and menu bars 'lock'. I cannot click them. The document is loaded OK, and I can type text. If I switch to another program by clicking on it on the task bar, and then return to Word, the tool bars are unlocked and everything is fine again. Ideas anyone?     - Word 2003 crashes on WordPerfect document with TextArt My client is switching from WP8 to Word 2003. Most documents convert fine, maybe a couple minor glitches now and again, but one type of document causes Word to crash. If I open a WP8 document that contains TextArt...lights out. Word drops out to the desktop with a standard "Send MS a message" error; Word can be restarted, so long as you don't try to recover the "lost" document. I opened the same document on a machine with Win98 and Word 2000 and it opens fine, though the TextArt is omitted. I have not tried this in Word 2002, nor have I tried in in Word 2003 running on Win98. I have downloaded updates on Word 2003 to no avail. Is this a bug in Word 2003, a bug in WinXP (Pro), a bug in Word 2003 running ON WinXP, or what? I don't care about saving the TextArt; I just can't have the crashes. Ideas? I have several stationary templates that were originally created under previous versions of Word. They have text and graphic information in the footer and header portions of the template. Now when opened in Word 2003, the footer and header information is not visable on the screen, although it is still there. It will print out and does appear if you open the Header and Footer editor subsequently close them. Further, the information is visable when you check the Print Preview.     - Connectors in Drawing toolbar grayed out Office Professional 2003 In Word, the Connectors sub-menu in the AutoShapes menu of the Drawing toolbar shows the connectors, but they are grayed out and thus unusable. I am not sure what is happening now. This is the first time I have actually
worked on a word document since you were here.
When I try to open a previous document (or the one I just finished) It is
asking:
Word automatically saved changes to the normal document template. Do you
want to load it?
It won't load anything if I hit yes:

It will open for me if I hit NO, but I don't want to have to deal with that
each time....
also, when I went in to search for the document/file I just finished,
it told me I had 70 associated files (impossible for me) and there were a
ton of " user@.....'s". What is that? They seem to multiply as I save.....
