 - Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error. Wan. My word program suddenly began giving the message as shown above whenever I attempt to save to a Network drive. There is nothing wrong with my Network permissions. I can save to the Network drives with any and every other program on my PC. It is only with Word that this problem ocurrs. I have noticed that it is trying to convert the file into a *.tmp (~WRL0005.tmp.rtf) file. What would cause this and how do I fix it? Right now I have to resave the document with another name when I edit and save. This does not happen if I save to my hard drive.  - Webpage hyperlink fails, target file changes to (..\and first 9 c. During building of document Word crashed,ever since when I try to make a hperlink in the Right pane, after typing in target file name and selecting the Insert Hyperlink window closes, and when I try to test the link it won't open. A return to the Insert Hyperlink window show the target file name is now ..\Port 400 which is the beging file name of the overall Web document. No matter wht I try the results are the same.  - Document in 2003 spreads out in pages Hi, document in 2003 spreads out in 1st and 2nd pages after entering 4 to 5 lines in the 1st page, ie after hitting 4 to 5 times the carriage return.  - Slow to print envelopes When ever i try to print an envelope with word 97 it takes forever. Other machines have no troubles, in task manager csrss.exe and spoolsv.exe are using 100% of my processor. its a 2.8ghz, 512mb ram, windows xp pro. Last week it didn't have any trouble at all, now its extremely slow. Where should i start checking for problems. I haven't made any changes to this machine for over a month.  - Word Start Up Error I have had a continuing problem with starting Word 2002 on my XP system - causes the error "Word has encountered a problem and needs to close". It gets hung up and I have to kill it with Task Manager. The only way I can run it is from Office Tools opening up the Word Support Template (uses support.dot vs. normal.dot) - then it won't crash. I have had techs re-install all Office software on this PC and still have the same problem. I have tried the suggestiions on word.mvps.org site "problems opening Word" application error page but still have crashes on word startup.  - Error Message When You Try to Insert Excel Worksheet in Word 2002 When clicking icon to insert an excel worksheet in a Word 2002 document the following error appears "Microsoft Word can't start the application required to open this object. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?'. The problem does not get resolve after repair.  - document closes unexpectedly I have Windows XP Home addition on my computer and also have MSOFFICE 2003. I keep getting errors when working in MSWORD which will close my document and save it to a WORD folder with a saved name such as ~WRA0950 .  - Cannot maximise word solution (possibly) Hi all, I was having a very strange error which I noticed has come up a few times without solution in this group. Word 2003 can't be maximised to fill the whole screen. Instead, after clicking on the maximise button it leaves this a one/two inch gap at the top of the page. Another thing is that the error only occured (for me) when outlook was open otherwise Word behaved itself. Well today I decided to check microsoft's site for office 2003 updates. The site did a check on my PC and decided that I need to install Office Service pack 1. Which I did as well as a word security patch and another office update. Some times while typing the file, the content of the file gets changed automatically... which i have copied and pasted below. This happens for all users, but rarely.  - Word 2000 saving over network When a couple of my users save a Word 2000 document to a network drive and then later reopen the doc, it causes weird characters to appear on some of the docs pages at radom. Microsoft sent me a .msi file that was supposed to correct it, but the users are still experiencing the problem. Does anyone out there have experience with this type of Word 2000 problem?  - locked project2 Word 2002, Win XP SP-2 Every time I start Word and start to type, the Project Locked dialog box opens with the message "Project is unviewable". I've checked the security options. There are no digital signatures listed. I only use one add-in: TaskPane Controller.dot - which I have been using for over a year with no problems. When I open word in the safe mode, the dialog box does not appear. I don't know if it's related to this problem, but I have recently created macros in Excel with Visual Basic.  - Reviewer has to update TOC I use Word 2003 in an office where we review each others' documents. One person who gets my documents has to update the Table of Contents with the F9 key when he opens them, even though I update before I save and send.  - Word 97 Hanging up All of a sudden, Word 97 (on Windows XP) has started hanging up. I've reported the problem and gone to the website they suggest. Honestly, I don't understand a word of what they are saying. Word has always been so stable in the past, I don't understand this.  - Can't copy between 2 Word Applications I have MS Word v4 (for DOS) and MS Word 97 both installed on my computer. I can't use the "copy to clipboard command" on v4, to paste into Word 97. The clipboard only works within v4. Also, when I open documents (filename.doc) created in v4 into 97, it comes up as boxes and gobbledegook. I used to use both these programs with Windows 98 and had no problem whatsoever. I have even tried the compatibility option (run as Win98) for both, but that doesn't help. Look, I know it's weird to be using such an old version of Word, but my husband likes it. I just don't understand why the 2 versions don't talk to each other on XP the way they did on 98.  - excel 97 stopped working My Excel 97 stopped working several months ago. It is part of Office 97 Small Business edition. I have uninstalled Excel and then re-installed it. That did not help. I tried to uninstall the entire Office suite (so that I could re-install it) but that did not work. Got an error message regarding a "set up initialization error" which stopped the unonstall process. All of my Excel files are intact and I can read them. But I cannot creat new files or modify old ones. Word is working fine. Can anyone help me out with this. Thanks. John F.  - Continued Version Errors After discovering that "versions" within Word documents can lead to document corruption, I'm attempting to delete the versions and save each version individually. I am having difficulty opening some of the versions and get Word errors when I do open them. An Autosave is done and the version is recovered.  - Why does AOL launch when I try to customize a bulleted list? When I try to use a picture bullet in Word, as soon as I click on the Picture button, my word freezes and my AOL sign on screen launches. I am unable to close the Word document once this happens.  - Word exits suddenly Hello everyone I have a document which is giving me a problem I haven't seen before. When I try to make changes to the document, Word exits suddenly. No error messages or anything: one minute Word is there, the next it is gone. I'm using Word 2000 SP3 on Windows XP SP2. I thought at first that this was a simple case of a corrupt document, but the same document can be edited without any problems on another computer running Windows 2000 SP4. Any ideas?  - Word doesn't merge Excel spreadsheets onto envelopes. I created a database of addresses in an Excel spreadsheet. When I went to Word to create a "merge" file, I wanted to print those addresses onto envelopes. The "merge" wizard said it didn't recognize any database in Excel even after I clicked on the database when prompted.  - Offic 2000 Premium requires disk to run I need to laod the Office 2000 CD everytime I open an application like Word or Excel. It then give me the message "An error occured and this feature is no longer functioning. Please run setup and select 'repair' to restore this application."  - Automating Deleting of Specific Entries There are these certain entries, date/time stamp entries to be axact, on some documents that I use that I would LOVE to be able to automatically remove them all with some cool macro or something but I'm not too good with these things.  - Pointer disappears when moving to right off of document - Update Using Win 98 and Office 97. Using Word in page layout format. If I move the pointer to the right, off of the document, it disappears and doesnâ??t appear again until I reach the border with the arrows where I can move up and down on the document.  - Word Crashes 2 days ago I was setting up to record minutes in a meeting. I started my laptop, runs Office XP Professional, I opened a document I had been working on earlier in the day on a desktop computer, also running Office XP Professional. Within 2 minutes I received an error message and Word crashed. There is no network connection in the meeting room. I tried to restart but it still failed. The message said Word had encountered an error and was shutting down. It would then restart with the unsaved document for me to save. If I saved the document, it crashed and I got the same message, if I didn't save - it crashed - same message. I restarted but same thing happened. Went home and uninstalled Office XP after running many diagnostics including Word repair and Norton Systemworks. Re-installed Office XP - tried to use Word - no problem - for 24 hours then crashed again. I have used the laptop numerous times over the last year to take minutes in a various locations and no problem. Now I seem to lose the ability to work in Word for no reason. Sometimes when I first start the computer, I shut down every day, Word will crash. Sometimes I am able to work for an hour before it crashes. I have started to notice that I do not have network connection at the time of the crashes but I have never required it in the past. None of the meetings I attend have network. Any Solutions??  - Word crashes after short time Hi. I'm running XP pro on a laptop. I have Office 2003 pro. Word has worked fine for 15 months. Now today, it crashes after 10 - 15 seconds every time. I can try load a file but it still crashes. I had been working on the same file as Wednesday (did not turn computer on in between). I made sure my virus protection was up to date. It is fine exept for one user, when trying to edit a document they are prompted with two dialog boxes that appear to be in a different language maybe chinese. If the user hits ok twice they are ok.  - When printing in Microsoft Word, the letters bunch up I can type a document without any problem. When I press print, the letters all bunch up on top of themselves on the left hand side. Basically, the entire document is reduced to only 1 character on the left hand side. The printout and the electronic document are completely useless.  - Find function no longer working I use the "Find" function all the time and suddenly it stopped working. I clearly see a word in a Word document, do control-F, type it in and with or without any added Search Options, it says the Word isn't found.  - Files renamed following upgrade Yesterday I upgraded client's computer to Win 2000 Pro and app from Office 2000 to Office 2003. "My Documents" folder is hosted in home directory on server. I brought back computer, remapped "My Docs" icon to home directory, and left happy. Today she calls and says all of her documents in "My Docs" on server have been renamed "Copy of..." followed by the original name. She's right, and I have no idea why that happened. (Note: New documents are not affected.) I shrugged and said "That'll happen with an upgrade", but truthfully, I haven't a clue. Help! Signed, Clueless in San Antonio Tag: Clip Board Tag: 94002

Clip Board automatically and continuously copies screen so copy function is
unavailable. What button did I hit by accident???

stuck.
