Everything was working fine for years, until I got the
latest virus. I was told to go to microsoft.com to get
latest updates, so I did. Everything seemed to be fine,
but when I next logged on, I was not able to open any of
my word documents. I get the message Insert MS office
2000 SR-1 Premium disk, then I press cancel and get the
message This file does not have a program associated with
it. As you can tell, I'm not very savvy here, what did i
do wrong?

Did you remove the virus before you updated Office? Did
you download an update and installed it?
1. Validate there is no virus on your system.
2. It appears your installation is corrupted. I suggest
you re-install Office (or Word) after you first uninstall.
3. Your personal data should be fine (provided the virus
has been removed)
Good luck!
