Help yesterday I did a system restore to correct a simple mistake I made,
and when the system rebooted I'm missing my Recycle bin and My computer
Icons. I can't guess where they went. All they are now is a white square with
little squares on it . Thanks for any help Larry

Might help -

To clear and reset icon cache:
Right click on the desktop, select Properties, Appearance, Advanced. Now using the item
drop down box, choose Icon. Change the pixel number by one. OK all the way out.

or download Tweak UI
Make sure you download the correct one for your system.

TaurArian: I tried the first option with no luck. I downloaded Tweak UI
with no luck as well. What next. Thanks for your reply, Larry

Under Display Properties, Desktop tab, "Customize Desktop" button,
de-select "My Computer", click OK. Then reenter, select "My Computer",
click OK.

Also try this:

Right-click the Desktop, click "Arrange Icons By", "Show Desktop Icons".

Hey Elmo I did the display properties thing and did nothing, I saw a restore
defult button their as well, I clicked on each desktop Icon listed (by the
way they were all just white squares with little squares on it) and pressed
restore defult button, and each Icon reappeared. Thanks for the help. Larry
