Hello

I have recently reinstalled Windows XP SP2 on my PC. I can't see arrows on
the shortcut icons. No help on Internet 'cause all is there about getting
rid of them. How do I get them back?

Thanks in advance.

Get Windows TweakUI for XP.
It will allow you to define the type of arrow. Small (normal), big, or
none.

This happens if the "IsShortcut" registry value is missing in the file =
association settings for shortcuts. Open a Command Prompt window =
(CMD.EXE) and type the following command:

reg add HKCR\lnkfile /v IsShortcut /t REG_SZ

Press {ENTER}

Restart Windows.

Dear Big Al

Thanks for the help but is there any other way to get the arrows back than
installing TweakUI for XP?

Will appreciate your extra help.

Ishtiaque

If you fear TweakUI, please don't. Its a Microsoft product. Okay, its
Microsoft, and they are not blameless, but its not JohnDoe Software
Incorporated. That's my point.

Try refreshing the icons using TweakUI.
