Windows monitor setting

Hi
I have a IBM laptop(with windows XP), the screen is a bit small so I
connected it to a 19" monitor, but every time when I close the
laptop, the laptop goes into hibernate statu
How do I use the external monitor while my laptop is closed, I dont
want to have two same monitors on my desk

Go to control panel | power management - there should be a tab that has an
option to let you choose what you want to do "when I close the lid on my
portable computer."
