Hi all
Have posted this previously and thought problem was solved, but it was not.
I have a program name and icon (my digital camera with a camera icon) in my
"control panel", which I think I unknowingly must have installed. I have no
use for this icon and it's commands are all grayed out. Appreciate if anyone
is able to assist me in a way to uninstall it. (I can't use system restore).
I don't know if this is sufficient info.
Thanks in advance

Did you try uninstalling the program that put it there, in the
Add/Remove Programs?

Hi JJ
Thanks for your response.
Yes, tried that.
Also tried with various freeware uninstallers but the icon doesn't show up ,
it's like a ghost.
Am also trying to delete it but NG. I don't know where it came from or how
it got into control panel. It's a digital camera settings program but not
installed by me.
It's not in program files.
It's really no problem, but just like to find out if it can be gotten rid of.

If that doesn't work, just delete the associated .cpl file from
C:\Windows\System32

The "applets" in the Control Panel are .cpl files in the
Windows\System32 folder, removing the corresponding .cpl file from the
System32 folder will remove the applet from the Control Panel.

-You gotta find the CPL file (Control Panel Extension) that goes with that
program... Seach for CPL files in your Windows\System32 folder... Right clock
on he files until you find the one that goes with the program you are talking
about.
