MY COMMENT>
Of course I predicted all this the very moment I set my eyes on an early
beta of Vista. I knew this was very bad news for MS.
If vista was good, then it would have saved MS, but vista has been
Microsoft's worst product EVER (and Im not joking when I say that).
Companies don't go near it, any respected IT person would never tell a
business to install Vista...
Vista has been hated and kicked around all over the internet... the
blogosphere and videoshpere is full of vista jokes and bashes...
And now MS is without inspiration, windows7 seems too much like vista... and
that's a big problem.
They need some new brilliant minds and to open their ears to what people
really need, but is the time enough to change the course of things?

Microsoft's brand power has been in sharp decline over the past four years,
an indication the company is losing credibility and mindshare with U.S.
business users, according to a recent study by market research firm
CoreBrand.According to the CoreBrand Power 100 2007 study , which polled
about 12,000 U.S. business decision-makers, Microsoft dropped from number 12
in the ranking of the most powerful U.S. company brands in 2004 to number 59
last year. In 1996, the company ranked number 1 in brand power among 1,200
top companies in about 50 industries, said James Gregory, CEO of CoreBrand.

Oh you are incredible at predictions. I'll bet if you went out and bought a
lottery ticket, with your powers, you will win each and every time. Now go
do that and report back with your winnings!

Go use Ubuntu and STFU.

And yet - over 100 million sold in one year. 2nd only to XP, whose
userbase is going down every month as Vista goes up. Vista blew past the
OS X 6 year userbase after about 3 months, and past the Linux 15 year
userbase after about 3 weeks.

Yep, no one likes Vista!

Windows ME is the "worst product EVER"... and all the years of
hindsight hasn't changed that.

It should be noted that XP had its detractors when it was first
released too.

100 million sold?

Half of those dont count since they were formated and XP installed.., dual
booted, or were a part of the free vista upgrade with XP preinstalled

the other 99% of the second half hate vista...

that leaves 0.5% of morons that like crap.

What can you do?

And still does (to some extent). Win98SE still has some advantages over
WinXP, chief amongst them being that YOU could fully customize it, and it
was lean, and there was little BS in the way of letting YOU do what YOU
wanted it to do. (And I've already given one such example with SFC (which,
in WinXP, is an "all or nothing", "behind the scenes", thing - useful in
dire cares, pretty useless in others)

Hello Number 2 most stupid posted in vista.general after Frank.

I do not predict random events like lottery tickets. This is not magic or
supernatural powers. I predict trends intelligently, based on information I
receive, and deep understanding how technology works.

If you really understood what the word prediction means you moron you would
not babble crap like you do.
I suggest you start educating yourself reading good information on the web
instead of trolling in here and bugging me.

I jumped right into XP the day it was officially up for sale in
October of 2001 (upgrade version) from Best Buy. Prior to that I was
running 98SE and was generally happy with that OS.

I did NOT do the same with Vista, because I'm totally happy with XP
and some of my peripheral hardware ain't Vista-ready.

I recently helped a friend buy and setup a Dell with Vista Home Basic
and only a GIG of RAM.

I liked what I saw. Since it lacked that "Aura" interface, it seemed
as "snappy" (almost) as my XP system.

Wrong numb nuts. You dont have any good information on Vista. Look at your
posts. All negative. You spin the info to your way of thinking which is
skewed. You have no idea how technology works and you will never have an
idea. Your deep understanding is probably crayons and a pad of paper. Oh
yea, the keyboard also. I was suggesting that you can predict lottery
numbers like you can predict the technology currently. You can't. Others
can, but you can't. Your posts are self serving and full of crap. You just
don't get it.

All you do and want to do is bash Vista. I'm not saying Vista is perfect,
but you are just an immature poster who wants to cause trouble. That is
all.

Now go play outside because that will get you away from the computer.

Nope.
Simplistically broad simplistic overgeneralizations. (cookie cutter, for

No, but DOS 1.0 might have been. (I seem to remember ver 1.1 fixing a few
things).

I almost expected to find that in WinXP. Maybe it's back in Vista?
(wouldn't surprise me).

Maybe he meant Win98SE was the last real OS, per se (not albatross).
And there might be something to that.

Of course *I* predicted as soon as this article appeared, that someone would

Vista bashers are so, well, predictable!

I guess that means there are a lot of unsatisfied Microsoft customers.

No doubt there are, just as there are a lot of unsatisfied customers of any
company. You can't please everyone, nor should you try.

Obviously, however, there are many many many more satisfied customers than
unsatisfied. And that's all that matters.

But does also look like it is growing. Agreed, you can't please all the
people all the time and nor should you try.

But clearly, Microsoft found a banana peek and is sliding fast.

There is a thing called market momentum. When people try other OSes due to
Visitation they will spread the word and turn the market.

It happened to Sperry-Univac, then IBM, it happened to Digital, it happened
to HP, it happened to Novell. Next up, Microsoft.
