Running XP Pro SP2 on Compaq nc2400 notebook with SoundMAX Integrated
Digital HD Audio. OS is up to date and all the latest drivers for the
hardware is installed. Issue is that when playing an HDTV .avi file with any
media player (Windows Medial Player 11 or iTunes) at least one of the audio
channels is so faint it is almost impossible to hear. Why can't I get the
audio to work properly?

Try WMPClassic and Codec AllInOne.

Thanks, CA.
WMP Classic was sufficient to solve my problem. Could not find allinone
codec. I had previuosly installed divex code and I guess this was enough.
Now a happy camper.
Cheers,
Bill

Hi Big Al,
Video Lan works much better than WMP classic. Both render audio correctly,
but WMP classic does not handle the video very well - many freezes like the
payer cannot handle the stream quickly enough.
Cheers,
Bill
