Greetings All-

When I use the "Eject" button when right clicking on an optical drive in my
computer it only opens the drive but does not close it.

Would anyone happen to know of a fix for this or how I could change my
settings to make it both open and close when clicking the eject button?

Thank you in advance.

So the first click of eject opens, but the 2nd click then does not close
it. Is that what you are saying?

I would think its the cd driver that is doing that, but in researching
the issue, I got some hits on google for 3rd party programs that will do
what you are looking for. You might want to try 'eject button does not
close cd'.

Hi NJITGS,

Not sure if this can be done. As a workaround, you can add a "Close CD Tray"
option in the Context menu for optical drives. See:

Thank you all so much for your replies! Both solutions by EasyMike and
Ramesh worked excellent!

Although bother did exactly what I expected, I m more partial to the add-on
provided by Ramish that adds the "Close Tray" option to the context menu
(right click). It was a little tricky to figure out at first, you have to
download and add the Nirsoft add-on to the Windows folder then dl and
install the add-on to place the "Close Tray" option in the context menu, it
worked beautifully!

Thank you again for shinning through....!

I must say I learned something new. Had no idea that was possible.
