I can open System - Hardware - Device Manager but it does not display anything.

I left it for quite some time in case still searching but it is not showing
the hourglass.

This seems to have happened since I ran XP SP3 - PC is a HP Desktop, my
Toshiba laptop is OK.

Not sure if related but the software that I use to download pictures from
Canon EOS camera does not seem to seeing the camera which why I wanted to use
Device Manager. This has definitely happened since XP SP3 because I
downloaded 400+ images on Monday night.

Just turned the other PC off so will have a check at that when I get back in.

Device Manager does open but does not display anything.
