I usually carry a user profile data from one PC to another by simply copy
the specific user "tree" (while I'm logged in as administrator account in
safe mode) and then restarting the PC.
Now I try to do it again with some other PC(I must use this user because of
many installations that I've done with it) but the user name is not
identical. So I modified the name in the following procedure: May
computer->Properties->manage->Local Users and Groups , into an identical
name. To my surprise I saw that the profile name under "C:\Documents and
Settings" didn't change as I expected.
Can someone advise how should I proceed ?
Can I simply modify the user profile name and everything would work?

Regards
Ronny

What exactly do you mean by "user tree"?

Thanks Mr. Pegasus,
I'm sorry if I use a wrong name but I meant the simply directory tree that
its root name is the specific user name(under "C:\Documents and Settings" I
have all the these user names).

You cannot do that.

The profile MUST be installed under a folder of the same name as it came from.
If that account does not exist, you must first create it, then log on once
as that user and off again before copying the profile as Administrator.

On personally-assigned desktops I make all users literally 'user' - avoids
profile portability problems!
