I didn't have quite the problems you were experiencing. Sorry to hear of all
that frustration.
I put on SP3 last Friday. I did not back up files. I wasn't sure what that
meant. It said backup system. So I proceeded with the installation of the
service pack.
When I restarted, it wouldn't reboot. It kept coming back to a black screen,
giving the options to either go into safe mode or start in a previous
state.....It couldn't reboot Windows. I have XP. my machine is a Compaq, with
a AMD chip.???
I was told by a tech person in my town that it may be a driver
incompatibility. Or it might be my Panda Int. Security... I can't find any
driver updates for SP3 at HP's web-site.
curious what to do, because my Panda program insists on me putting that SP3
ON.
Help, if you can.....If you get your problem solved. Let me know. thanks
