Hi

I have 4 updates that i have been informed of- recommended- that i do not
need, would these be blocking sp1 from showing up? i am not using"automatic"
updates, i check them every day and install the ones i need,
acer monitor driver
windows gallery,
modem i don't use
nvidia controller dreial nata driver
nvidia networking driver

the builder said i did not need these but i don't believe him anymore.

i haven't checked your links provided yet, thank you, but why then are some
getting sp1 on updates, then do the 4 items i have listed that were
recommended updates, that i have not installed have anything to do with it?
supposedly i don't need them.

Carey, when, in reply to a question, you post a link to the article
"Window Vista Service Pack 1 is not available for installation
from Windows Update and is not offered by Automatic Update",
I think some people are interpreting your post as a statement of fact
from you, rather than the title of a KB article dealing with an issue.

Windows Update does not offer SP1 to me, and I think it is because the
Microsoft file ks.sys is on my machine, and Microsoft Update says it is
not compatible with SP1. I understand that Microsoft is currently
working an update for ks.sys.

If this is correct, then this might be the reason others are not seeing
SP1 listed at Windows Update either.
