here we go again... Exit code = 0x80004002

things were working fine until I installed Office 2007. Now the update
downloads the files, but fails to install them. Here's some of the

before this machine had to be rebuilt I went through this, and at that time
I updated the installer. So this time I have alreay tried installing 3.1 and
4.5, the highest I could find but the failures continue... Any ideas on how
to get this working again? Thanks!! :)

Ignore the title and try Method 1 here:

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from
Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a
Windows XP installation

Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:
