keep running Windows Updatye and it tells me my system is up to date. There
have been no Updates in about 2 weeks.... no new Windows Defender
definitions... nada. This seems awfully suspicious. Any thoughts or
similar situations?

The last set of updates were released 2 weeks ago today.

There are times when the update servers are too busy to offer Defender
updates, or you might not have been running your computer long enough and at
an opportune time for Automatic Updates to bring in the Defender updates.
You can update Defender manually via the right-hand menu here:
