I have recently been having a problem when I initially connect to the
internet. After connecting my computer will start running wuauclt.exe and
will not allow me to perform any other function. I have read other posts
about this but can not find anyone with the same end result. After
wuauclt.exe has finished I can use my computer with no other problems.
Everyone else seems to have other problems.

I have already looked at the respective KB's and loaded the latest update
program and hotfix but the problem still occurs. The only way I can stop the
'hang' is if I completely disable Automatic checking for updates.

My computer is officially 'clean' so I know that this is not a contributing
factor.

Does anyone know of any other fixes that might cure this problem?

XP SP2
Athlon64 3000+
1GB RAM
