I'm a good husband and tried to update my wife's computer to SP3, but it
failed with the info below as shown in the file svcpack.log (which I accessed

First, make sure that your anti virus software isn't locking the registry and
preventing the installer from modifying the same.

Error message when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3: "Access is
denied" or â??Service Pack installation did not completeâ??
