I use Vista Business (32-bit) and had been waiting since April for WAU to
notify me SP1 was available. Given the number of problems people have
reported with manual download/install, I wanted to wait for WAU.
All Important and Critical Updates were current and no driver/hardware
conflicts. Nothing. Finally received notice about "Optional" update (IDT -
Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC). After installing I checked WAU and
there was SP1.
Download/installation required approximately an hour but went very smoothly.
No problems with sound, mouse, keyboard, browser (Firefox) or anything!!
If anyone else has been waiting for SP1, I strongly suggest you check out
this "Optional" update: IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. Might
solve your problem.
