If you WinXP CD is WinXP SP1, yes; otherwise, it's WinXP Gold.
In any event, you should be able to install SP2 if you're running WinXP Gold
or WinXP SP2.
And if you're running WinXP SP1 after the reinstall, you can skip SP2 (as
well as over 100 post-SP2 updates) and install SP3 instead.
So, please tell me if you're now running WinXP Gold or WinXP SP1?
To determine this: Start | Run | (type in) winver | OK
