Everytime I boot up my computer it says I need to install Security Update
KB946026 so I do so and reboot and as soon as it comes back up the same thing
all over again. I have the yellow exclamation mark that says I have an update
to install. What do I need to do to resolve this annoying issue?

Check mrxdav.sys against the version listed in the bulletin:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-007.mspx
to really make sure it's being updated. If it isn't, try downloading it and
installing it manually.

The same thing happened to me just days ago on my windows vista home
basic.

Here's what you do.

When you turn on your computer, hit F8 so you can go to "Safe Mode With
Networking". After the computer loads up like that, go to system
restore, and "Choose a different restore point." Restore your computer
to before your computer installed the update for the first time. Then
you want to start windows normally(if it doesn't automatically). When
you get on, open windows update. Now go to "change settings" and either
choose "check for updates but let my choose whether to download and
install them." or "Never check for updates". Then hit "OK". Now go to
"view available updates." Now right click on the update(s) that kept on
installing and hit "Hide update". You should be good now.:)

*DONT HIT RESTORE HIDDEN UPDATES! Otherwise that update will come
back.*
