I have Office 2007 and Windows Update has offered me the update Office 2003
SP3. Aren't these updates supposed to be targeted to the version of the
software already on the computer?

Am I able to hide this update so it doesn't keep coming up? Or is it likely
that Microsoft will realisse that it has made a mistake and withdraw it?

Thanks

John

Most likely it isn't an error. You probably have another product installed
(or visited a web page) that required the use of the Office 2003 web
components. If OWC is installed, it should be listed in your add/remove
programs list.

At first I was wondering what OWC was, but then I opened Control Panel and
then Programs and Features (which I just happened to remember was the new
name for Add and Remove Programs) and found an item Microsoft Office 2003
Web Components. I can see it now in your message.

Since that is there, does that mean that I should download and install the
update?

Thanks

John
