I've been trying to update windows xp sp2 to and getting the several error
msges. This is the last one that I've received and now my computer will shut
down if it stays idle for a while. The code is not listed in the support
file. Any suggestions?

The network card is inactive or disconnected. All jobs are placed in the
BG_JOB_STATE_TRANSIENT_ERROR state

Make sure these services are not disabled (Start, Run, type: Services.msc)

Background Intelligent Transfer Service(BITS)
Cryptographic Services
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
System Restore Service

Check the device manager just to make sure nothing is wrong there.

Sometimes flushing the Softwaredistribution\download folder and rebooting can help. If you
wish to try this, then see the following:-

Stop the Automatic Updates service

Click Start, Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Stop.
Stopping the service will take a moment.

Delete the contents of the Download folder
Click Start. Choose Run.
In the Run box, type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
Click OK.
Open the Download folder.
Delete all contents of the Download folder.
Close the window.

Start the Automatic Updates service
Click Start. Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Start.
Starting the service will take a moment.

To get Windows Update to re-offer updates -
Click Start, select Run and then type in: wuauclt.exe /detectnow

Hi Engel, I would have thought that would have been fixed long ago, this was
a problem with Panda Antivirus 2005 when there was conflict between windows
update and Panda anti-virus Titanium 2005
There was a hotfix posted ,hfT50504s8.exe which you might still be able to
download:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/support/card.aspx?id=21043&idIdioma=2&pagina=16
For Panda Platinum 2005, and you get 0x80200010 , go to:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/support/card.aspx?id=21234&idIdioma=2&pagina=3

I would be surprised anyone would still be running this.

IMHO
K
