I remember when service pack 2 first came out for win XP. I installed it into
my laptop, and it got slow, very slow. So I held off installing it onto my
minitower PC for about a year so that all of the bug's were sorted out, and
then installed it. This time it didnt slow my pc down.

Well, seems like nothing has changed. I was offered the Win XP service pack
3 as I have 'ask first' set for my updates. I should have known from my
experience with patch 2 that I should wait for a year or so, but went on and
installed it. guess what?

Yep, my pc slowed down! Some programs, especially my internet browsers (I
have three, and I use 2 of them regurlaly), take about three times longer to
start up now! Maybe that's why it's called service pack 3?

Seriously, I really want Microsoft to step up and send in patches for
service pack 3 asap! I'm fedup of having to endure this kind of thing, while
the guys in Microsoft are millionares!

If you're unhappy with SP3, then just uninstall it and go back to SP2.

Who knows...if you wait a year them maybe SP3 will be more to your liking.
