Since the install of service pack 3 for windows I have not been able to use
the device manager or to see current conenctions on a LAN.

Any work arounds to permit me to see this information. I use this a great
deal while I travel

I have the same problem after sp3, on one drive of a multi-boot system.
Another drive, no problem. Both have Norton SystemWorks, so that does not
seem to be a sufficient condition to cause the updater to garble the
registry. Googling the issue shows that many people are having the same
problem. No, that 2002 kb doesn't help. Oh, and I'm also getting Error:
"SetupDiGetClassDevs Failed" from NetSwitch which won't go away ....Al
