I have an HP DV6000 AMD Turion 641.8ghz with 2gb memory, Vista Home Premium.
I cannot get automatic updates to stay ON. I will manually turn it on in
settings, and within a matter of minutes, it will turn off again by itself. I
do nothing, I can literally sit in front of my computer and 2-3 minutes later
it is turned off again. Has anybody had this problem with their system, and
if so, how did you resolve it? I am at the end of my patience with this
machine...please help.

I am having the same problem, it is like it freezes on the same % then when I
stop installation, it will regain a few more %, then freeze and so on and so
on. I also am running Vista Home Premium, Compaq Presario F500. I will too
wait on help from your post.
END of my Patience 2.

One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include
but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, CounterSpy, AVG Anti-Spyware,
Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, NOD32, and Zone Alarm
(Free, Pro, & Security Suite).

I suspect Threatfire's the culprit, Bob.
