Moving a Terminal Server Licensing Server

Hi all.

Looking for a quick answer:

I have a client with a Terminal Server with TS licensing installed on
the TS itself. Because the TS is malfunctioning, we are replacing it,
but before doing so we need to install TS Licensing on the domain
controller and migrate the licenses.

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to do this so as to ensure we don't
lose the previously activated licenses?

Hi - I'd post in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services for the most
expert help.

You need to deactivate the TS Licensing Server, then activate a new one and
install your licenses. There is no migration. The client checks for a
license each time and collects one if needed.

I would not deactivate the current one until the new one is up and running.

To install the TSCALs on the new server, the Jamie will have to contact
the MS Clearing House to get them reissued. He/she will need to have the
documentation for the original order...
