Somtimes when i logon (eg a ntid) a xp or server machine, my logon profiles
duplicated as in ntid.domainname and ntid.domainname.000

I m administrator for both type of machines.

Is there a reason for profile duplication ?

It is caused by incorrectly configured permissions or network connectivity
issues.

Administrator rights are not necessarily enough. Profile files often have
"Administrator" removed.

Again, permissions or network issues. The network issues primarily affect
roaming profiles.

We are using local profiles.

What happens if you delete the oddly named profiles and try again?
