Gone away for Christmas? (Alright, December! But, hey, December is the
coolest month, everyone deserves to have it off - and that's my gift to you,
my blessing!).

It's white with frost outside, but happily not David. And speaking of
whites, Richard Pryor died, as you're all probably aware, (except possibly
those of you having it off - December, I mean!).

And here's a statement for anarchists. Anarchy means the most violent rule
the world. Okay, so it's already that way - but without law or government,
Organised Crime takes over, enslaves everyone and makes *itself* the
government. Basically we go back to the Middle Ages and start again, go
through the whatever Inquisition, torture as SOP, murder like in
Nazi-occupied Europe, Rhodesia, Rwanda, etc etc. All espousing anarchy does
is demonstrate your mediocre, schoolboy-level intelligence. Hey, first rule
is *don't* expose yourself! Still, that's what you do, isn't it, so-called
Anarchists? You might as well say the Carbon-based lifeform was a mistake
and what we *should* have is Helium! At least we'd talk funny.

Luvvaduck! I was able to look at my fingers as dressings were changed, able
to watch as the wires were pulled out (really, no anaesthetic!) but now the
Physio's started and the sight of the healing, mishapen fingers, makes me
nauseous. Jeez, supposed to do these exercises every hour! So, getting used
to catnapping. Won't be able to use an axe (note spelling!) for 6 weeks,
lucky to grip one by 4.

Either my memory has largely recovered or I can't remember that it hasn't!
Still leaves the reduction due to no longer having nicotine coursing through
my cerebellum. But the winter son is blazing low above the hillside, the
South-East of the largely-bare trees, and the houses have an almost ethereal
glow this sleepy English Sunday morning that, apart from the odd sign of
modern construction materials has a timeless look, tall oaks with clumps of
missletoe, nothing that would have looked out-of-place 100 years ago. It's
hard to believe this is the same England as the one I've come to know. I
once bought a reproduction of a misty lane that reminded me of one just
beyond the hilltop I can see from here. And yet, compared to the West
Country, this is merely gently undulating.

Right, that's it! Bloody exercises to do! So, if anyone knows how I can
accomplish those using Win ME, I'd me much obliged!

Hehheh!

So you're the only one in the world with the original version, eh?

Unfortunately all I'm on is codeine and/or paracetamol, Noel! In fact I very
nearly complained about the absence of anything *expanding*.

Oh it's all over the place! But apparently you have to go through all
kinds of hoops to get some and (not that I would know ;-) but the stuff
supplied by Health Canada is supposedly not all that good!

On another subject, I see that there is a pretty big fire at an oil
storage depot on the other side of the pond. Another good excuse for
the oil companies to raise prices over there. But then, "petrol" is
really cheap in the UK so they can probably afford a small increase...

LOL!! Took me a minute or two to figure out what in heck you meant.
Remember....I worked for the Federal Drug Prosecutor for some time, grin.
John John's right....apparently the "pot for medicinal purposes" is not
nearly as good as the stuff the "gardeners" grow.

Hey, that's an idea. Let's put the dealers/cultivators to work for the
Government. Better pot and no criminal offence. (VBG)

Remember children....the narcs have planes to fly over the fields to make
sure it REALLY is corn that people are growing....lol.

You see that, Shane?
Everyone is rooting for you.
If you didn't take anything substantial, why not do so now?
It might help gain your memory back - or loose it alltogether.
From where I am sitting, you seem to be doing just fine, considering the
circumstances and you'll be back to your own self in no time at all.
In order to employ or include WinME in your healing process, you merely use
the keyboard more than the mouse!
As they say: "Keep your chin up and the eyes on the target".
Myself I am waiting for Christmas to arrive, to refuel my spiritual
aspirations.
Wishing you and everyone the best of Holidays,

Harry.

I can't figure whether you're being ironic about the price of petrol here or
you really do consider it cheap, in which case I *shudder* at what Canadians
have to pay!

Anyway, in a sense it's good to see the fire is actually being reported your
side of the puddle. I looked at Fox news earlier and they seemed to be
preoccupied with being thin enough to get into a swimsuit!

I suppose anywhere here seems near to anywhere else when seen from North
America, but where I am I half expect to see the black cloud eventually and
the prospect seems almost on a par with a nuclear winter! I suspect we'll
have to help the US invade someone else now! Tony Blair'll be lucky to get a
lump of coal in his stocking this year...though I guess the Home Counties
could occupy the Peak District and surrounding area.

Last I read about this was when I was back in Devon - so that's 3 or 4 years

wonder if your government learnt about investing in science from ours (I

Well, you know, it isn't hard! If the govt. can't get it done right it must
be because they've given the job to cronies - like Tony would do.

LOL!

But seriously, being on the Warfarin now - and for about another 5 months -
I'm increasingly wary about what I take! I looked up cranberry recently -
looks like I won't be having any this year! Two units of alcohol allowed
daily. Ibuprofen out.

I tell you, this is torture! I'm bored silly not being able to do anything
strenuous or dextrous and bored sillier not being able to get artificially
'relaxed' instead! If anything it was better when my memory wasn't
working...

Yeah, and to you, Harry.

And thanks for the encouragement. Yet another thing I've gone most of my
life - until lately! - failing to appreciate the importance of...I mean, not
being able to jump on the bike and go for a blast through the hills is
damned hard! Twenty-four years ago, half encased in plaster, I'd get taken
to the local real ale pub (also had a mate who brought me something small,
dark, hard and - iirc - Nepalese, while in hospital, back in the days when
they let you smoke on the biker's ward! ;-) In fact, that's also where I
first met Ruddles County and Old Peculier!)

I'm not sure if I should tell you, you might get mad at us! Anyhow, we
pay about a buck a liter. 1 Canadian$ = about .48 GBP or .71 Euro.

I don't know what the going price is over there but I know that
generally it's a heck of a lot more in most European countries. I never
thought I would here myself talking about gas prices as being cheap!
It's a constant bitching session in these parts with the high price of
gas. People want their 60 cents a liter gas back, it's expensive
filling these big SUVs when there on empty!

I'm caught between laughing and remembering when I had a big motor (for

expensive to fill here!

You pay more than we do in Ontario. Prices are fluctuating between 82 cents
to 88 cents per litre here in the Toronto area. I think BC has one of the
highest price/litre. And we got a Citi Bank PetroCanada card which gives us
an automatic 2 cents off every litre. So I can't complain much. I do
remember being aghast when it went up to 55 cents tho.

Re: So what's everyone do? by John

John

Prices are all over the place from one day to the next. I drive by a
gas station on my to and from work and it's not unusual to see the
prices change overnight or even twice during the day, mostly for no good
reason at all! The prices fluctuate between 90 cents and a dollar or
more. This summer it went up to more than $1.40. A big scam if you ask
me. At 99 cents people think it's a bargain because they remember
paying $1.40+. Our provincial taxes are probably higher here, plus the
market is quite a bit bigger (well a lot bigger) in Southern Ontario.

But not to fear, we have a federal election on the go and they are going
to fix all of that for us! A foot soldier for one of the parties came
to my office today. He asked if our MP could come and visit my plant
next week. As usual we only see them at election time, so I said OK,
we'll see you next week. Then, after he left, I ordered a barrel of tar
and a big bag of feathers! The guys who sell the tar told me that
because tar is an oil derivative that the price had gone up
substantially since I ordered some at the last election. I told him
that I didn't care, it's money well spent no matter what it costs!

John

That election gives a whole new meaning to "Christmas turkeys"!

Yeah....isn't it odd that the prices jump up when it is deemed there WILL BE
a shortage. Do they not realize ('they' being the jerks in power, grin)
that we know it is stockpiled??

It changes every hour here and our favourite game is called "Beat the Gas
Gougers"....lol. We really have to get a life!!!!

We have a different set of problems in our area....and I shall try to be
tactful, sigh. I refuse to vote for ANYONE whose parents were not born here
and/or came here from Great Britain for instance.

18 months ago, we had a choice between a *Bollywood* actress and a male from
the same country that I knew personally from my real estate career, and he
was a flippin' crook!! So we didn't vote.

The Bollywood actress won, btw. Male voters obviously. (VBG) And she
doesn't even live in our City. Go figure!!
