thnx to both. I followed up on your suggestions to no avail. But I did
find a solution. I went back to hp's recovery cd's and reinstalled
mmkeyboard. Problem solved. What happened was that I had went to a site re
start up programs and was adamantly told to DELETE osd.exe. It said that it
wasn't used for anything and could cause problems. Osd.exe is the
application that runs on screen messages for netropa. Now osd is back where
it was and everything works fine. Words of advice to anyone who might read
this thread: Do not, I mean DO NOT delete anything until your sure it
won't cause problems. Change the extensions to 'old' or quarantine. If
your system seems to be working okay, then delete. No disrespect to either
of you. I've gotten valuable advice from you Silj. Thanks for your
dedication. Richard
