Glad to see you back......missed you (G).
Are you saying that she could update her XP?? I was at her place about 3
'reformats' ago, and not knowing that it was a buccaneer version, went to
Windows Update and got some foreign language......like middle European.
That is when I realized what she had on there.......not to mention it is XP
Pro, which she doesn't need. But at this point, she panicked and told me to
leave WU alone.
One of these days I am going to write a book about ditzy people I know (and
am related to, grin) who for instance, put CD's in upside down and can't
figure out why a program won't load. Or use a Win95 computer for 7 years
and and swear they have never had IE or OE on their computer. There was a
dead silence when I convinced him to double click on the funny looking
desktop icon....ROFL!! (my brother-in-law) I must have a million
stories......grin.
Frightening, isn't it.......I am considered the 'guru' with these less than
computer-literate relatives. Said B-I-L now has XP and I have refused to
help him at all!! Told him to RTFM. He still tries to wangle info out of
me.
I would help, if he would listen........but he won't. If I try to explain
something simple, he yells at me and says I am confusing him.......grrrrr!!
He tries to pretend he knows all about computers......so when I take it to
the next level, of course I confuse him.
And that is my 'tale of woe' for the day......grin. Lovely day here
actually......first one above zero in a long time.
Cheers......Figgs
